A Child's New Year's Prayer and Resolution |
|

A resolution is something we promise ourselves that we will do.
For example:
"With God's help, I promise to do my best to pray more for my family."
or
"With God's help, I promise to do my best to be friendly to others at school."
Ask God to help you decide what your resolution should be this year. Then, pray for His help to see it through.
Now, here is the fun part!
- Print out our downloadable “New Year’s Prayer and Resolution” pledge.
- Write down the resolution that God has placed on your heart.
- Have fun coloring it!
- Place it where it will remind you of your resolution all year long.
Happy New Year from all of us at brotherfrancisonline.com!

Brother Francis December Freebie |
|
We are glad that so many of you were able to download and enjoy last month's "Thanksgiving Prayer." As Christmas approaches, we hope our December free download will give you even more reason to celebrate!!

Whether you use these beautiful Christmas coloring sheets for your children, grandchildren, or a child entrusted to your care, we hope each will be blessed by their message. Let's all pray that the wonder and excitement of Christmas will help us cherish the gift of the birth of Jesus and His great love for us!
A hand-colored message from a child is such a wonderful way to spread the joy of Christmas. The children might color them and take them to retirement communities to encourage the elderly, send them to a soldier who can't be home this Christmas, or maybe even insert them into your family's Christmas cards. We would love to hear of any other creative ideas you might have in the comment section below.
Merry Christmas!!

This has been an amazing year, filled with many blessings at Herald Entertainment. So many of you have expressed the growing need for quality, fun and entertaining Catholic content, and we are grateful that we are able to help fill that pressing need!
We are thrilled to have been able to release two new episodes this year, "The Bread of Life" and "The Rosary". Taking into account the excellent feedback many of you sent us in response to our last survey, we will release a fourth episode early next year on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, "Forgiven: The Blessings of Confession". Your comments have been VERY helpful and have brought us great encouragement. Thank you also for taking the time to tell your friends about this new series!
"Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God." 2 Corinthians 4:15
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so it is the perfect opportunity to express our thanks to you by giving you a new free download. We hope you will share our "Prayer of Thanksgiving" with the children in your life. We pray it will serve as a reminder to be thankful for the "things" we have been given, but most of all for the Giver who has blessed us all in so, so many ways.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Children and Imagination - The Rosary |
|

Children and imagination- they go together. It’s amusing to watch children play at make believe. They can engage in epic castle sieges with unseen swords and horses, or organize an instant tea party replete with invisible tea and every lush pastry their heart can desire--all instantly available with the use of their vibrant imagination.
In the same way, children’s imaginations can be enriched with the visualizations of Bible stories and the important events in the life of our Lord. Let them take time to imagine the stable where Christ was born, to smell the hay, then listen to the animals …
“What else do you think was there?”
Let them fill in the gaps. They may go a little overboard and start telling you about the dinosaur that was there, but a gentle nudge can help correct them:
“No, I don’t think a dinosaur was there. The Bible tells us there was an ox and a …”
Doing this will help the child to both visualize the story and to respect the written account.
Similarly, we can help our children use their imagination when they pray memorized prayers such as “The Our Father” and “The Hail Mary”. Let them think about each sentence and help add some sincere drama to it.
For example, you can pray some beautiful dramatic music when you teach them the “Glory Be”, so that it becomes a truly praise-filled prayer comprised of words UNITED to their heart.
These are some of the techniques we utilize in the upcoming “Brother Francis” episode, “The Rosary.”
We hope it will help enrich children’s prayer life and enamor them to God who loves them dearly, even though He too, is not seen with our physical eyes.
- Brother Francis
